Litchi Orchard

Take to the countryside at the Litchi Orchard in Salt Rock, adjacent to Chaka’s Rock. This family-owned and run farm makes a refreshing change from the seaside activities in the area, or a great place to visit when the tide is in or the surf is not up to scratch.

On the second Saturday of every month, the Litchi Orchard hosts a bustling Farmer’s Market, filled with desirable locally-made creations.  Here you can have an authentic market experience with a social vibe – it’s a great place to get together with friends and meet new people.

The Art section of the market is where you will find a range of original pieces handcrafted by local artists.  You will find a selection of top-quality furniture pieces, antiques, fine art, photography, pottery, stoneware, graphic design, jewellery and wood carvings up for grabs at these stalls.

As the afternoon wears on you might want to amble along to the rustic Monkey Country Pub for a locally brewed bevvie or two and during summer, you can’t leave without stocking up on delicious litchi’s fresh from the trees – a favourite activity for children.

Once month the fun extends into the evening with a night market and live bands, and an open mic evening is held from time to time at the Monkey Country Pub.

Although there is plenty of parking available, the market is becoming increasingly popular and it can get rather packed at times, so get an early start and make a day of it.
