The Golden Hours Market is a little rustic market focused on fundraising for the Golden Hours School for special needs children. With live music and lots to see, eat and buy, a large outdoor adventure playground for the little ones and very safe off the road parking, this is an ideal Sunday outing for the whole family to enjoy. What’s more, your pets are welcome to tag along.
Food stalls on offer include the following options for you to indulge in: hearty breakfasts, light snacks, juicy boerewors rolls, a delicious Durban curry, chilli bites, slap chips, divine homemade pies, perfect tea treats and quiches to name only a few. While the options vary for the kids the hot sellers are definitely the popcorn, candy floss made right in front of you as well as the pancakes drizzled with syrup.
The market doesn’t end there! There is an astounding range of products available ranging from pet food, dried fruits and nuts, biltong, organic sauces, and pickles to pyjamas, bags, belts, designer cushions, hand knitted goods, eastern wear and gem stones.
The large second hand bookstall is a great place to pick up a good read for a reasonable price and there are numerous collectables on sale, such as household items, glassware, wooden toys, cards, sand art, mosaics and loads more.
The kids will love the jungle gyms which provide hours of outdoor fun, or you will find them running wild in the large playground area while you shop to your heart’s content at all the stalls.
Transport around the market for the children is in the form of tractor rides and are a firm highlight for them. You can enjoy a light snack in the tea garden while being entertained by one of the musicians singing old favourites as well as the latest tracks.
You can find the market in Uitsig Road, behind Hyper by the Sea in Durban North, with ample parking available.
