What stands out the most in Thyme Square is the attention to detail, owner and head chef, Carla-Marie places on everything in the café. From the brightly coloured teapot designed menu, ribbon wrapped cutlery to the condiments, the box they bring your bill in and the feminine touches added to the cake stands around the café – attention to detail is definitely one of her strengths.
It gets better though – besides the articulate detail added to almost everything in Thyme Square, the food is just as perfectly displayed.
From “Tiny Treats” for the kids to a variety of pastas, salads and sandwiches, as well as some fabulously looking and tasting treats – ideal for those looking at increasing their waistline.
Coming from the city, when traveling to these ‘smaller’ towns it’s often expected that cafes and restaurants are a bit pricey due to a low influx of sales during out of season months – however that is certainly not the case for Thyme Square. Here you definitely receive great value for money.
These three Crumpets are stacked on top of each other and are served warm with banana in between each layer and bacon placed on the top of your crumpet tower which is then drizzled with sweet syrup. This is definitely a quintessential tea treat.
