We have had several really good holidays with Flexi Club over the past few years but have especially enjoyed the last 2.  In 2009 we invited my sister and brother-in law to join us at Flexi Club’s Bushman’s Nek. It was during July and we were really hoping for snow.   We did get some – just on the mountains – but were pleased to wake up to snowy peaks one morning.   The four of us had a great time, walking, relaxing, playing crazy golf, eating and socialising with the other guests.   It was such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere that we decided to take our children with us the next year.

In May the following year we met our son and his little family (from Pretoria).   He remembered the resort from his high school days with fond memories and was looking forward to seeing it again.   He agreed that it was much improved but still had the same family atmosphere.   We were shown to our unit which was really large, very well equipped and big enough for another 2 people (we were a party of 5).

The rest of the week was fully occupied with walks, horse riding, swimming in the heated pool, spa treatments, tennis, badminton, puzzle building and other organised activities in the main lounge.   There was always something to do and almost not enough time to fit it all in.   The main lounge was a favourite place as well, with roaring fires in the cool evenings and we made sure that we entered into the organised games, Bingo and Quiz evenings (which the family won on 3 occasions).   We travelled into Underberg to see other local attractions and spent time at the Cheese Factory, Duck & Doolittle and even found a farmer who produced some of the delicious local jams.  We were invited to meet her at the farm and ended up leaving with boxes of her produce.

A definite highlight for our son and daughter-in-law were the horse rides into the mountains where they rode amongst Eland on one occasion.

It was without doubt our daughter-in-law, Susan’s favourite family holiday and we can’t wait to go back again next year.   Next year, however, there will be a new addition to the family (due in February) and we are sure it was as a result of the holiday!!
